Winnowing

Grain re-enactment - The threshed grain was separated from the chaff by means of a hand-operated winnower. From the impressive collection of vintage machinery assembled for the re-enactment, came the idea of establishing a museum, to preserve and display the district's agricultural and social history for future generations. The Yankalilla Museum was officially opened to the public on 17 May 1993.
