Dr Braddock's House

73 Yoho Rd, Delamere

The house is believed to have been built about 1865 by stonemason W. Thomas. It was occupied by Dr John Braddock and his wife between 1865 and 1869. Braddock was surgeon and medical officer for the Rapid Bay district.

After Braddock left the district Dr Daniel Baruh rented the house for a couple of years. Baruh was appointed surgeon to Talisker Mine and Loyal Silverton Lodge. He left in 1872, and the house was then sold to Rev Charles William Morse, who is thought to have bought the house with the intention that it would serve as rectory for St James church, but it was never used as such.
